Merry Christmas Nuzlocke Community!

Sparkling as ever, I stare into the depths of my screen, the light casting off my dulling rainbow shine. Christmas, where has my love for you gone? As a child I used to be a bundle of energy, my excitement leaving me positively buzzing, so much that it dispelled all hopes of a full-night’s sleep.

Now on the other hand I just sit here, my youthful frenzy gone alongside the spirit I once held for this season.

Downstairs I know there’s a tree, one wrapped in tinsel and decorated with fancy baubles. Lights sleep there, ones powered by former self, the only similarity the multicoloured vibrancy that encapsulates it.

I wish for a different attitude, but somehow it escapes me, so I go into the world of the internet. Skype, then Google and finally DeviantArt, I left click away the hours, boredom playing in my sigh as I stumble along a peculiar oddity.

A drawing. In less than a second a smile crosses my lips, the image of it sparking the simmering embers of my heart. To say it is a masterpiece would be a lie, but it’s the meaning that grants it potency.

Merry Christmas.

To me, and I hope my blank eyes are seeing correctly, but it looks like a stained glass window, one that shows the people who’ve made a difference in keeping her on the site... and I was there.

Just seeing it gave me an idea, its expansion shedding away the rust from my yellow shirt with rainbow-sleeves, making me glorious again!

I would do something similar!

With fervent determination I open up word, thinking about what to do. Somehow, just thinking of making something for somebody else is giving me joy, the same feeling that I used to associate with this frosty time of year.

Unsure of what to do, I type, just like I always do. I want to do the same for all those who’ve made the community exciting for me! People I have come to value as friends, whether they like it or not!

Eee~ this is kind of fun. I think, grinning as I slap at the keyboard with my sleeves, pondering whether it would be more efficient to use my nose for typing....

Screw it! I don’t care! Lack of time and drawing ability has put me in this mess, but I will do at least this for you!

I want you to know how appreciative I am of your company in the last year. I know I haven’t known you for that long, about nine months probably, but even then... you’ve made a huge impact on me.

Your assistance and interest in my story has really motivated me, your advice giving me not only confidence, but also a feeling of satisfaction. I really feel like I’m improving, and you’re one of the instrumental factors in that.

Don’t think however that I am just using you... for it’s been the times we’ve talked that has really made me glad to call you my friend. The Dota... the crack... everything! >w<. You’re a really cool person, even if you’re one of the soulless!

So here’s your gift: A list of spoilers. On it is everything about Resistance, the twists and turns, the tragedy and the... romance? Enjoy it!

In all seriousness though, I want to say thanks for both of you. I value your company, with you two being funny and cool people that I have a real fun time talking with. I mean, I know I talk to Mad more, but you’re included here Peach! Really, you two are great... but I guess you already knew that...

This was the girl who made the picture, the one who inspired me to be Christmassy! Nebbie! Now at first I teased you a lot, pretended to be mean because I felt like it. You see, I tend to be a jerk sometimes, but I never really mean it.

I excluded you from the all-round hugs... but now you’re one of the first I give them too. You’re a really sweet person, and it sucks that you can’t always be at streams. Truly, I think you’re an awesome person and I really appreciate all the fanart you’ve done of Fabusol!

Still... I must say.... FAT HER. MOT HER. AYAH! Those were my gifts to you on your birthday, but here is my gift to you this Christmas. I know it’s not much, but here, I want you to have it.

Either way, you’ve come to be somebody I find really cool. Your fanart and enthusiasm for my work alongside your crackilicious mind always gives me a laugh and a smile. You may be mean at times, but at least I know you don't mean it.

I included you two (alongside those who are also part of it such as Tay) because you really have made streaming itself fun! Dragons, your company is really fun, even if you are really loud, but heck by comparison Nica’s also very loud...

Not that I mind of course! . You two are wonderful, and I really don’t speak to you enough to be fair. Nica, I’d like you to play Dota with us sometimes, and Dragons, you know I’d talk to you when you want to (as long as I am not busy >_<).

Unfortunately, I don’t know what to give you two... so perhaps the promise of something that’ll entertain you soon... like another stream... or maybe just a hug? I don’t know? I just want to say that I think you’re both really cool and that I appreciate your friendship.

Now... my most loyal fan... I bet you’re wondering what I have planned for you? I know you won’t get it, you never do; the foreshadowing is never enough. However, you’ve been there since the very beginning, before Resistance was even edited!

Adam, you’re cool, there’s no two ways about it. You’ve been on my streams, been used as references in many of my games ones... and you’ve always been commenting on my story. Thanks man, you’re awesome.... and sometimes funny I guess. :shrugs:

Now onto another amazing person! It’s Yume, the author of Black-Out! I met her when I critiqued her work awhile back... right after a stream... and ever since then we’ve talked a lot. Yume is a very awesome person, one who has scoured my work for the tiny spelling mistakes and talked to me for many... many hours.

Heck we even went on holiday together! Google-Maps holiday that is! Through Skype we navigated an area... man, now that was fun!

Yume, thanks for being so much fun to talk with. Through Skype I’ve earned a lot of smiles, quite a few of which came from you. Thanks for being my friend, one who is not only an brilliant artist, but also a spectacular person too. 

To Julia ()

For all those reading, this is the final message, and by far one of the most important. Julia was my inspiration to start a nuzlocke, her comic giving me the drive to start my own, regardless if it was in written form or not.

Over time, my inspiration grew into becoming one of my closest friends, even if she did live miles and miles away. We talked, we laughed, our conversations varied but never limited. There was, and still is, nothing we can’t talk about together.

Mundane, silly, complicated, depressing, these subjects have never impeded us, the path to following them always inexplicably smooth and straightforward.

Her ability is something I admire, her cracky brain somewhat hilarious and amusing. I really cannot explain too well how much I value her. It was her who brought me into the community, the force a magnet that I could only describe as fate – if I believed in such a philosophy.

So many experiences you’ve given me, nearly all of them so positive that I cannot help but smile when I think back. Our first meeting at London Euston is an experience that will be forever burned into my mind.

Amidst the crowd was a gem, a cute, sparkly one that charged into me and went into a worried frenzy, apologising for being late. I am not ashamed of how I reacted, I gave you a kiss to shut up you, telling you I was just happy to see you.

Julia. Regardless of what may happen in the future, at this point in time my feelings tell me this: I love you. I really do. The thought makes my heart beat a little faster, for a smile to cross my lips, making my chest tighten with joy.

I don’t wish to think of negatives, but I will not be naive. Things can happen, things that can break any chain. However, whilst our bonds stay connected, please know that you are one of the most important people in my life. Whatever the future may bring, right now my feelings are true and real, and I am proud to call you my girlfriend.

Thank you for the wonderful year, for being amazing, for making me so happy that I am blushing a little right now.

I said this already, but I love you, and I can’t wait to come go to Switzerland next month.

Now, I know I could be corny and give you my heart for Christmas, but personally I do not want to pry open my chest and commit suicide, so I’ve decided to give you something else.

It’s happened, hasn’t it? Yes, it has. I feel happy again... this is Christmas. It’s not about oneself, about self-satisfaction, but generosity and familiarity with other people. I look up and smile, grinning as I stare at my own words.

“For everybody who I didn’t include, just understand that there was only so much I could write. I appreciate all of you who I’ve spoken to, had a laugh with, and generally lazed around with as we’ve watched others draw on streams. Thank you to you all, and remember, Christmas is about giving, not receiving.”

With this said, I suddenly feel sleepy, yet satisfied. I reach for the save button, sighing as I look out the window and smile.
